Russia’s Polyus Gold to raise Krasnoyarsk Region gold output 30%

MOSCOW, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- Russian gold producer Polyus Gold plans to raise gold production in the Krasnoyarsk Region by a third in the next four to five years, CEO Pavel Grachyov told reporters on Friday.

“We have…four development projects, and two of them are at an advanced stage of implementation. These projects are aimed at expansion of the first and fourth gold recovery plants, and the next is the launch of the Poputinskoye field. A new sphere for us is the fourth project, construction of a dressing plant at the Blagodatnoye field,” he said.

“In total, these four projects will grant an almost 30% increase of our production in the region within next four to five years,” he said.

The Krasnoyarsk Region’s unit accounts for 70% of Polyus Gold’s combined gold output. In 2015, the company’s combined gold production reached 1.763 million ounces, or 54.8 tonnes. In 2016, the company plans to produce 1.76–1.8 million ounces of gold.
